Welcome to the

 Dayspring Church family

Church history

Our church has deep roots in Wappenham and Slapton, where we’ve long served the surrounding villages. We continue to gather at Wappenham Chapel for Sunday afternoon services and midweek meetings. On 1st October 2023, we moved our morning service to Marie Weller School in Towcester to better serve the community and accommodate growth.

Our Pastor, Trevor Thomas, and his wife, Manuela, have faithfully led the church since 2016. He has served the Lord in Britain, mainland Spain and Majorca. His wide experience and caring nature combined with a passion for preaching God’s word equips him for a well-rounded ministry. He brings a down-to-earth approach and profound Biblical insight, through which he applies God’s word.

What we believe

01

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that as such it is infallible and authoritative for faith and conduct.

03

The Fall

We believe in an historic Adam and Eve who were created in God’s image and were perfect in righteousness and in communion with God. Adam was tempted and fell into a state of sin and as a result all mankind is born in sin and with a sinful nature.

05

Christ the Mediator

The eternal Son of the Father emptied Himself and took to Himself sinless human nature. By His perfect life of obedience and His sacrificial death as a substitute for sinners, He satisfied the justice of God upon our sin and purchased salvation for all who trust in Him. After His death and resurrection, He rose physically from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven where He sat down at the right hand of God the Father.

07

Justification

Justification is an act of God’s free grace whereby He freely forgives all our sins and declares us righteous in His sight.

09

The Church

The Church is the whole body of Christ consisting of every believer, past, present and future. This universal Church finds it’s visible expression in the local gathering of believers who meet regularly for worship on the basis of scriptural teaching, the singing of hymns, prayer, and fellowship and to observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

02

God

We believe that there is only one God and that the unity of the Godhead exists in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, co-equal, co-existent, and co-eternal. The eternal existence and sovereignty of God is revealed in Creation, Providence, Redemption and Judgement.

04

Salvation

Salvation is of pure grace. This means that no-one deserves it or can earn it in any way. It is appropriated by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.

06

The Holy Spirit

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ to sinners and to apply the salvation purchased by Him. All who truly believe in Christ do so because of the work of the Holy Spirit in conviction, new birth, repentance and faith.

08

Sanctification

Those whom God justifies He also sanctifies by His Holy Spirit. This is an ongoing process in which the saved believer is renewed in the image of God, enabling them to die to sin more and more and to live increasingly according to the will of God. Because the believer is never entirely delivered from his old nature while on earth, sanctification is progressive, the believer experiencing conflict between the flesh and the Spirit.

10

The future

It is appointed unto Man once to die and after that to face the judgment. Heaven and Hell are real and ought never to be taken lightly. After death, the souls of believers go to be with Christ which is far better. The souls of the lost shall hear the solemn words, “Depart from Me, I never knew you”. When Christ returns, He shall regenerate the cosmos and there shall be a new Heavens and a new Earth where righteousness shall dwell undisturbed for all eternity.
